KaiYun Energy Partners with its First Commercial Vehicle Partner
Shenmu City, with its significant demand for short-haul coal transportation and abundant by-product hydrogen from coal chemical industries, is part of Yulin, one of the first cities designated as a demo city for carbon peak demonstration. It has the prerequisites for developing a closed-loop vale chain in the hydrogen energy industry.
The “Shenmu Model” is tasked with the historic mission to transform Shenmu City via hydrogen energy. The core objectives of driving economic development through ” hydrogen absorption” and “localization of hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing” shall support the high-quality development of the Yellow River’s “Nine Bends” area.
As the organizer and implementer of the ” Shenmu Model” for Shenmu City’s energy transition and transformation, KaiYun Energy signed a comprehensive hydrogen absorption and hydrogen industry cooperation agreement with the Shenmu City Government on July 26, 2024. As a technology-intensive enterprise, KaiYun has completely eliminated the industry’s
dependence on government subsidies through solid and advanced product capabilities and business model. In the initial phase,8,000 hydrogen-powered heavy trucks will be systematically rolled out, and the operations of these vehicles will drive the full-capacity operation of corresponding hydrogen production and refueling facilities, resulting in an annual hydrogen absorption capacity of 130,000 tons and in the phase by phase establishment of a full hydrogen energy industry chain and equipment manufacturing in Shenmu. KaiYun will assist the Shenmu City Government in realizing the “hydrogen energy industrialization through coal industry hydrogenation” concept to create a globally influential “Shenmu Model.”
On August 23,2024, Mr. Chao WANG， Chairman of KaiYun Energy, and Mr.Liu Zhijun, Party Secretary and Chairman of Xiamen Jin Long, met and discussed the vast potential of hydrogen energy commercial vehicles in Shenmu City and the in – depth cooperation opportunities. The cooperation is settled via the KaiYun’s order to purchase 1,000 hydrogen
short-distance heavy duty trucks and 8,000 hydrogen energy micro logistics vehicles.
This batch built-up vehicle procurement is one of the key links in launching the high-intensity deployment and operation of the “Shenmu Model”. Xiamen Jin Long will continue to invest in core technology, focus on the layout of the commercial vehicle industry, and have the core capabilities of large-scale commercial vehicle delivery, so as to effectively ensure that the first batch of orders for the “Shenmu Model” can be delivered on schedule with high quality.
The launch of the first batch vehicle delivery will sufficiently promote the realization of “Shenmu Manufacturing” for hydrogen fuel cell systems and core hydrogenation equipment.
KaiYun Energy will continue to provide more purchase orders for hydrogen energy core components, complete vehicles and basic equipment and facilities, attracting more excellent hydrogen energy industry chain participants to settle in Shenmu City, so as to not only effectively reduce industry costs, but also to facilitate the real commercial applications of vehicle operations. The establishment of the “positive-sum game” industry chain relationship is instrumental in developing the hydrogen fuel cell powered commercial fleets as the key force for large-scale hydrogen consumption.
The signing of this batch procurement is an important practice for KaiYun Energy to take the realization of the “Shenmu Model” as its own mission and to actively implement the national “dual carbon” strategy.
